FIRE PREVENTION
The Jackson Township Fire Prevention Bureau was established in 1976 with one full-time inspector. As Jackson Township developed over the years, so has the demand for services. Today, the Bureau consists of three inspection personnel, a part-time plans examiner and one administrative assistant.
It is our mission to prevent or limit the occurrences of fire that result in injury, death and property damage through prevention, education and enforcement.
We accomplish these tasks using a multi-level approach. We conduct safety inspections of comercial buildings and public events, educate residents from preschool to senior citizens, and enforce the Ohio Fire Code.
The Bureau is also responsible for the cause and origin investigation of all fires. They work closely with the State of Ohio Division of Fire Marshal Investigators and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
Our intent is to protect the residents and visitors of Jackson Township, our workplace, our homes and our environment from the devastating effects of fire.
