YARD DEBRIS DROP OFF

(TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ONLY – NO COMMERCIAL)

NEW HOURS BEGINNING JUNE 15, 2008

Summer Hours:    April 1 to October 31 - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Winter Hours:       November 1 to March 31 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Open seven days a week.  Gates will close overnight. 

The yard debris drop off area located in South Park on Fulton Drive behind the school administration building and storage barn experienced great usage this spring as residents welcomed better weather by trimming, mowing, and generally sprucing up their yards.  This drop off area has been provided by the Township as a free service to residents year-round for the collection of yard debris.  The site has been well-respected and accepted for only biodegradable yard debris, with no demolition materials, no treated wood, no stones or dirt, and no plastics or junk.

Commercial operators are prohibited from using the drop off site, and violators will be cited.  Fines are $500 for the first violation and $1,000 for subsequent violations. 

The Board of Trustees set the above hours of operation in order to safely manage the site.  By opening at 9:00 a.m., Township workers will be able to safely clean up the area and load the gondolas in the morning before opening.  The site will remain open and accessible seven days a week during the posted hours of operation.  Please exercise caution in this busy and potentially dangerous area as vehicles and equipment move in and out of the site.  Since the drop off area is unlighted, it will be closed and gated at night for safety reasons.  Please do not drop off any debris after closing.
