Fishing Frenzy 

Tuesdays, June 10 & 24, July 8 & 22,

and August 5 

9:00 - 10:00 am

North Park Pond

Bring your poles and enjoy your summer days at the ol’ fishin’ hole!  Join us at the pond in the North Park on selected dates from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  Enjoy the morning learning some basic fundamentals of fishing and fish identification.  Bait will be supplied, but you may bring your own.  This program is free for everyone! No registration is required.

 

 

 

Kid’s Yard Sale

Saturday, August 2 (Rain date 8/9)

9:00 am – 12:00 pm

North Park

Buy or sell usable children’s clothes and toys still in good condition.  Kids, ages 12 & under, will have the chance to experience what it’s like to work in retail!  Each space with a picnic table is $5.00.  Limit of 2 tables per family.  Register by Friday, July 25th for your space.  Tables are limited.  Registrations will be accepted until the deadline, or until the event fills.  Not selling anything?  Browse the selections and be prepared to purchase loads of great bargains! 

Registrations will not be accepted the day of the event. 

No admission fee!

 

My Grandparent & Me at the Ol' Schoolhouse

Thursdays, July 10, 24 & August 7

10:00 - 11:00 am

Grandparents can reminisce and share memories with their grandchildren at the schoolhouse on Fulton Rd.  The setting in the schoolhouse is perfect for old-fashioned games, crafts and a light & fun history lesson.  Different activities are scheduled each date.  Interested children, ages 6 - 12, should bring their grandparents (or any older adult) to the schoolhouse on Fulton Rd. between the Jackson High School and the South Park.  Registration is required.

 

6th Annual Pet Parade

Saturday, July 12 (Rain Date 7/13)

11:00 – 1:00 pm

South Park - Bog Shelter

Ages 15 & younger can show off their favorite animals in the Jackson Township Pet Parade!  (All pets are welcome!)  Participants & their pets are encouraged to dress in costumes, although it is not required.  Awards will be given out in the following categories: Smallest Pet, Biggest Pet, Most Unusual Pet, Prettiest Pet, Owner & Pet Look-a-Like, Famous Hollywood Pet, Team Mascot, Judges Choice Award and more!  Participants must pre-register & obtain a copy of the rules prior to the date of the event.  Registrations will not be accepted the day of the event.  Registration for this event is free. 

Tie-Dying

Tuesdays, July 15, 29 & August 12

10:00 am – 12:00 pm

North Park Pavilion

Join the Recreation Staff for some summertime fun!  Program participants will meet at the North Park pavilion.  This program is designed for ages 6 – 12.  Participants must bring own items to tie-dye. (Plain white t-shirts work best!) 

Registration is required.

 

 

 

Weird Science

Tuesdays, June 17, July 15 & 29

2:00 – 4:00 pm

North Park Pavilion

These are not your typical classroom science experiments!  Get ready for a few laughs as we explore the lighter side of science and technology.  This program promises a wide variety of experiments during each scheduled session.  Participants will discover wacky little-known uses for common well-known products; explore chemistry with items found in any kitchen; recreate some mind-boggling inventions & much more!  You must pre-register with the Jackson Township Parks & Recreation Department for each session.  Cost is $5 per participant, per session.  Open to ages 7 – 14.
