Meeks reminded everyone they have been working on this project for quite some time now.  He said residents have expressed the need for sidewalks to the schools, the YMCA, and other sites in the area.  He said it would be beneficial healthwise and it would alleviate some of the traffic congestion.  He pointed out that this grant begins the sidewalk project and will provide safety not only for children but for adults attending extracurricular school activities.

Pizzino said he attended a meeting with the Township Administrator, the Township Highway Superintendent, Bob Fonte from Stark County Parks and Tom Winkhart representing the schools.  He also pointed out the need for sidewalks and said there are three government agencies sharing the cost plus a private developer who is involved.
