Pizzino called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. at the Jackson Township Hall with all Trustees, Fiscal Officer, Lyon, Fitzgerald, Neftzer and Ruwadi present.

Pizzino moved and Burger seconded a motion to go into Executive Session for Police Department Personnel (Appointment/Employment/Compensation) – Interview Secretary 2 applicant.

Pizzino moved and Walters seconded a motion to go into Executive Session for Park Department Personnel (Appointment/Employment/Compensation).

Pizzino moved and Burger seconded a motion to go into Executive Session for Zoning Department Personnel (Appointment/Employment/Compensation).

Upon return from Executive Session, at 6:07 p.m., Pizzino called the General Session to order with all department heads present.  He requested that all cell phones and pagers be turned off at this time.

Pizzino moved and Burger seconded a motion whereas, Resolution Nos. 07-133, 07-136, 07-143 are incorporated herein and all persons on the attached list have successfully completed their required physical and psychological examinations and had a negative drug test.

Be it resolved that, pursuant to Step 5 of the Part-time Firefighter hiring policy and authority granted in ORC Section 505.38, we hereby appoint the attached listed persons to the position of Part-time Firefighter, effective January 15, 2008, who shall serve a probationary period of one (1) year.

Pizzino administered the oath to Shawn Yerian and called a short break to allow for pictures.

Pizzino moved and Burger seconded a motion to authorize the hiring of Debra Colaner for the full-time position of Secretary 2 in the Police Department, effective January 28, 2008, who will be compensated at the rate established in the Negotiated Agreement.

Be it further resolved that Debra Colaner will serve a six month probationary period during which time she may be terminated without cause by the Board of Trustees.

Burger moved and Walters seconded a motion to authorize the advertising for part-time patrol officer positions.

Pizzino moved and Walters seconded a motion  pursuant to attached Resolution No. 04-104, Joni Poindexter was appointed to the full time position of Jackson Township Zoning Inspector.

Be it resolved that, effective January 14, 2008, Joni Poindexter will receive the benefits of a Class A employee as described in the Benefit Package for Management Personnel and will receive a salary adjustment increase of 5.5%.
